The Alpha Foundation of Howard County
The Alpha Foundation of Howard County (AFHC) was incorporated in 2001 by Kappa Phi Lambda chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. The purpose of the AFHC is to provide educational and programing activities for African American youth males in Howard County. Our signature mentoring program, Alpha Achievers has chapters in each of the 12 Howard County High Schools. Other programs for which AFHC supports include Leadership Development Institute, the Harambee Conference and providing academic scholarships.
Based on the recent events around the country it is plain to see young Black males are at risk. Men of Alpha Phi Alpha have a history being at the forefront of social issues. Martin Luther King and Thurgood Marshall took on the civil right fight on the streets and in the courts. We as Alpha men are determined to preserve our legacy by providing mentoring to our precious male youth.
Your support of our fundraising activities which include our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast and Golf Classic are integral to our success. With your support we continue to support the youth of Howard County.
I urge you to make a tax deductible donation today, the youth will greatly appreciate it.
